It’s a narrow strip of about 14m of private forest where our first oaks grew old. They have been peeled back in the days, and maybe that’s one reason why they reached the end of their lives, with some strong branches already dead and woodpeckers starting to show interest.
An old barn became the temporary home of our boards, needing to dry before we can turn them into furniture.
6 Hours of cutting action result in ca.50 boards, between 30-50mm thick.
From 2 trees we could utilize 5 pieces. Each 3m long.
The exceptionally beautiful grain shows for the first time.
The selected trees show severe canopy damage.
